Howard Feldman

Howard Feldman, Exxon MobilHoward Feldman is a senior stratigrapher at ExxonMobil where he has worked for the past 20 years. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana University in 1987 and then taught geology at Clemson University for one year before joining the stratigraphy team at the Kansas Geological Survey for 7 years. He moved to the stratigraphy research team at Exxon in 1995.

Howard has worked in a wide range of basins and business settings applying sequence stratigraphic concepts in fluvial, coastal and deep water settings.  He has published numerous papers on stratigraphy and siliciclastic facies analysis, mostly on coastal to fluvial systems.

Howard is currently working in the stratigraphy research group at ExxonMobil Upstream Research where he does research on the application of sequence stratigraphy to coastal facies and deep water fans. He also teaches the ExxonMobil Seismic Stratigraphy School.  He is an active member of AAPG and SEPM.
